SPEEDY® Rolling Board
Disabled children with limited mobility have very few possibilities for getting around without outside help. These very children also possess a strong drive to explore the world “on their own”. Autonomous movement plays an important role in the personal development of every child and promotes self reliance. We have developed the SPEEDY® rolling board expressly for this purpose.
With SPEEDY®, physically challenged children gain more freedom. SPEEDY® is a rolling board specially designed for small children; it can be adjusted and adapted to accommodate most any type of disability. The child’s upper body and legs are strapped into the rolling board. The breast support slides vertically, easily adjusting to the size of any child. The breast support also tilts, allowing the angle to be adjusted relative to the hip supports. Velcro belts on the breast, hip, knee and lower leg supports secure the child to the rolling board. It is often necessary to prevent muscle cramps in disabled children, which is why SPEEDY® offers individualized angle adjustment for spreading a child’s legs and placing the knees at various angles.
SPEEDY’s TÜV-tested design consists of a chassis with an elaborate drive system. Depending on the child’s abilities and needs, SPEEDY’s maneuverability, mobility and speed can be individually selected more or less by adjusting the wheelbase. The more clearance the steering wheel has, the speedier and more maneuverable SPEEDY® becomes. While riding on SPEEDY®, small children can “test drive” their self reliance. And, of course, as speed and maneuverability increase, so too does the fun.
