AFS®: Abduction wedge foot-rest system

The new AFS System ist an integrated abduction wedge foot-rest system that
is used with the dynamic seating system AKTIVLINE®.
The abduction wedge is integrated into the foot-rest system and can easily be rotated underneath the seat unit at the press of a button. Hence an easy transfer of the patient in and out of the seat is assured, even with or without a lifter.
The foot-rest system is mounted at the physiological pivotal points in the knee area of the seat unit. The mechanism for the foot-rest unit including the release spring is located in the integrated abduction wedge. In order to avoid disturbing a patient transfer with it, the new and unique hinge mechanism was developed.
